In 1991, with "L'amour de l'art", Thierry Raspail and Thierry Prat provided a panorama of contemporary art in France.
Organised around the principle of individual, independent spaces of 120 m2, the event presented 69 solo exhibitions by creators of different nationalities working in France. The participants were divided up among three sites: the Elac, the museum of contemporary art and the Halle Tony Garnier. The exhibition was resolutely turned towards the production of exceptional works: Alain Séchas and his "carnivorous plants", Erik Dietman and his thirty-ton house, Arman and his cast-iron car-wreck. Right from the beginning, the venture was a success: in five weeks, the event received 77,000 visitors.
