Ferdinand Cheval Born in 1836 in Charmes-sur-l'herbasse (France). Died in 1924. Model of the "Palais Idéal", from the postman Cheval. Between 1879 and 1912, this rural postman, who was a self-taught builder and visionary sculptor, built his disconcerting Palais Idéal, in which "all styles and all countries, of all ages, are thrown together and fused." A 1/10 scale model of this construction was made by the architect Alain Duperron in 1983.
