Valie Export Born in 1940 in Linz (Austria). Lives and works in Vienna (Austria) and Cologne (Germany). "Remote... Remote..." (1973), 16-mm film . The body is the main subject of her works. She utilises her own physical presence to explore the relationship between object, image and identity. Using her own body as her artistic material, she exposes stereotypes of the condition of women. Her works produce a reaction on the part of the spectator rather than seduction by the object.
