Franz Gertsch Born in 1930 in möringen (Switzerland). Lives and works in Rüschegg-Heubach (Switzerland). "Natacha IV" (1987-1988), 8 woodcuts, in coloured ink, all representing the same woman face, in the different registers of the chromatic circle. The series exhibited here represents a single face projected from a slide onto engraving wood. This portrait is intended to unveil the soul of the model; but also, by subtle variations of colour, to release contradictory emotions, whereas in fact it is always the same individual who is represented.
