Chris Marker Film-maker born in 1921 in Neuilly-sur-Seine (France). "Casque bleu", video in which a soldier relates his experiences in the rubble of Sarajevo. Chris Marker is constantly in search of a language suitable for the expression of his ideas: he is one of the rare contemporary film-makers to have mastered the new media. In particular, he is interested in the collective memory, and the forgotten facets of contemporary history, noting that occlusions born of political expediency can be overcome by mediatised recordings.
