Luc Tuymans Born in 1958 in Mortsel (Belgium). Lives and works in Antwerpen (Belgium). "St. Valentine" (1994) and "Blacklight" (1994). His paintings explore the limits of representation. Luc Tuymans' work enters into the prolongation of an ancient still-life tradition. But in terms of the colours used, and the choice of subjects, he imparts to his canvases a painful character, in keeping with the contemporary era.
