A patron of the Lyon Biennial The foundation is associating itself for the second time, through its Rhône-Alpes delegation, with the Lyon Biennial, the most important contemporary art event to take place in France in 1997, thus confirming its commitment to contemporary creation. In Paris, in the Espace Electra, it regularly hosts exhibitions by artists who use light in their work of creation: in 1992 there were Mecarelli's sculptures; in 1993, artists' projects for Parisian public spaces that were brought together under the title of "Paris ville lumière"; in 1994 there was Kersalé's "les expéditions lumière"; in 1996 came Julio le Parc's "les années lumière"; and, just recently, there was the "Dialogues de l'ombre" exhibition, which included works by 25 contemporary artists. In Poitou-Charentes, the foundation participated in the public commission that was awarded to Jean-Luc Vilmouth for the rehabilitation of the Châtellerault site. In Midi-Pyrénées, for the last three years, it has been a faithful partner of the Printemps de Cahors. And in Ile-de-France, it recently participated in the creation of the Centre National de l'Art Imprimé et de l'Estampe, in the Ile de Chatou. |
