Martin Creed

Born 1968 in Wakefield, UK
Lives and works in London

Musician and artist, Martin Creed is an untiring creator who is interested, above all, with the creation process of a work of art. Martin Creed's work is always concentrated on an acute perception of our environment, like in the rubber ball filled room also located in the Sucrière. Here, Martin Creed exposes a collection of monochromatic drawings executed, line after line, in a coloured felt pen. Like in his other work, Martin Creed neutralises all tangible value in his pieces in order to work on the essence of art, on his relationship with reality and life, with the help of a rigorous visual grammar (that obviously reflects minimal and conceptual art) without sacrificing its physical and sensible characteristics.
