Opening Concert by the Orchestre National de Lyon
Auditorium de Lyon

The ONL plays host to dance in this vivacious, Spanish-flavoured bill. Featuring Miguel Ángel Berna, who has reinvented the choreography of the traditional Aragon jota; and Úrsula López, principal ballerina with the Ballet Nacional de España, who is equally comfortable with the purest flamenco and the bolero school. Accompanying works by Chabrier, Falla and Rimsky- Korsakov will alternate with orchestra-only pieces; and the acrobatic Tzigane and Bohemian Airs will be brilliantly played by a young Japanese who is little known in France but adulated in the United Kingdom and her home country.

Friday 26 September at 8.30pm
