Organised by the Centre national de la danse

When an existing audiovisual work is used as the basis for an original, multidisciplinary production, the creative processes chosen by the choreographer raise a range of issues regarding author’s rights: identification of the various holders of rights; the procedure for obtaining their permission for the use of existing images; negotiation of usage rights for archival material and the role of image banks; the conditions under which the video-maker is considered co-author of the dance performance; and the cost of video rights as part of a production budget.
