Wayne McGregor is resident choreographer at the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden.
Since his Biennale début in 2004, Briton Wayne McGregor, who is fascinated by the “technology of the dancing body”, has attracted widespread attention: as resident choreographer of the Royal Ballet; as choreographer / director of Kirikou; and as creator of Genus, inspired by Darwin’s theories, for the Paris Opera Ballet. McGregor will be in Lyon with his company of virtuosi to present his latest piece, Entity: A Diptych. This visionary diptych - wrought with tensions between virtual / physical and artificial / natural - offers a mechanical vision of dance inspired by neuroscience. |
